Short Review (For Quick Readers)

✅ Great for All Experience Levels – Logical puzzles with a smooth flow make it perfect for beginners while still engaging for experienced players.
✅ Unique Points System – Completing the room, solving a side quest, and finishing with extra time all contribute to your final score, adding a fun competitive edge.
✅ Engaging Games Master – Juanme was friendly, attentive, and added a personal touch before and after the game, making the experience even more enjoyable.
❌ Set Design Lacked Wow Factor – While it fit the bank theme, the room didn’t fully capture the high-security vault atmosphere.
❌ Some Spanish Props – A few written elements were in Spanish, though they didn’t impact gameplay too much for English-speaking players.
❌ Puzzles on the Easier Side – Great for newcomers, but experienced players might find the difficulty a little low.

Long Review (For Escape Room Enthusiasts)
Arrival & First Impressions
As regular visitors to Málaga, we’re always on the lookout for new escape rooms to crack. After a quick search, we discovered La Casa De Las Habitaciones, a company offering games in both Spanish and English. Located just a short taxi ride from the city center, it’s surrounded by plenty of local bars and restaurants—perfect for grabbing a drink or bite before diving into a mission.
Like many escape rooms, the venue is tucked inside an office building, but any doubts were quickly dispelled by our warm welcome from Juanme, our Games Master. He spoke clear and fluent English, setting the stage with the backstory and introducing their unique points-based scoring system—a first for us, which I’ll explain below.
Gameplay & Puzzles
Our mission? Infiltrate the bank and crack the vault. The set design didn’t scream “high-security vault,” but it did establish a convincing bank atmosphere. The puzzles were logical, well-paced, and contributed to a smooth gameplay flow. Some elements were in Spanish, but their purpose was clear, so it didn’t detract from the experience.
We especially enjoyed the clever use of technology, which added to the immersion as we progressed through the heist. There was a good variety of puzzles, with plenty to keep our group of four engaged. A standout feature was the side quest, a bonus challenge within the room that awarded extra points if completed within the hour.
While the puzzles weren’t the most difficult (especially for seasoned players), this actually worked in our favour. It was our friends’ first-ever escape room, so we took a step back and let them take the lead, which made for an even more enjoyable experience.
Games Master & Points System
We didn’t need any hints, but Juanme was attentive throughout, ready to step in over the microphone if our heist hit a dead end. He was engaging both before and after the game, chatting with us about our previous escape room experiences and even taking an interest in our holiday plans—a nice personal touch.
Their unique points system worked like this:
- You earn a base score for completing the room.
- Additional points are awarded for solving the side quest.
- Any unused minutes at the end of your escape convert into extra points, making for a more competitive leaderboard system.
We really liked this feature as it adds a fresh dynamic and extra motivation to not just escape, but escape efficiently.
Final Thoughts
“The Theft” (or El Robo) was an entertaining heist adventure, made even better by playing with our Málaga-based friends. While the set design wasn’t groundbreaking, it effectively set the scene for the mission. The puzzles were well-structured, engaging, and ideal for groups of mixed experience levels.
